The Weston Chronical Office

Weston was established in 1837.  Its history, since 1864, has been chronicled by several newspapers. The most iconic is The Weston Chronicle.  The Weston Chronicle was established in 1883 and continues a once-a-week publication. Today’s owners are the editor, Beth McPherson, and Jim McPherson.

The items in this exhibit were used in the Weston Chronicle office from 1886 to 1994.

Pictured are B.J. Bless Jr. and Bertha I. Bless, the publishers of The Weston Chronicle from 1915 to 1948.  Both are in the Missouri Press Association Hall of Fame.

Bertha Bless was instrumental in establishing the Weston Historical Museum and wrote the book, “Queen of the Platte Purchase”, about the City of Weston.
