April 12- 5pm-7pm- Members Only. - History Happy Hour at Cactus Creek in Weston. A ticket is required for admittance. Pick up your ticket at the museum. Not a member? You can join and pick up your admittance ticket at the same time at the museum. Space for this event is limited. Museum Hours- Wednesday - Saturday, 11AM- 4pm Sunday 1 pm to 4 pm

The Black Ancestors Awareness Campaign Celebrates 5th Anniversary
BAAC is excited to announce our annual signature event, the 5th Annual Juneteenth HeritageJubilee (JHJ5). Please join us at the Weston Red Barn Farm on Saturday, June 14, at 11:00 AM.
The Neighbors of Blackhawk Street ~1850-1920 is our 5th anniversary theme. We’ll honor and celebrate the rich history and the beauty of diversity of Weston’s historic Neighbors of Blackhawk Street with engaging storytellers, live music, poetry, shopping, booths showcasing souvenirs and lost arts, the popular African dance troupe- Dance In Motion. — plus the famous BBQ luncheon provided by the Weston Rotary returns.

JUN 28 -11 am at the Weston Historical Museum - Children’s Pioneer Talk
The Weston Historical Museum invites you and your children to step back in time into Weston's vibrant past as a bustling river town! Children will learn about pioneer life through engaging stories, they’ll create traditional toys in a hands-on activity, and experience history up close with the museum's artifacts. This event is for children ages 4-12, free of charge, and open to the public. Space at the museum is limited and reservations are required. Reservations Required: (816) 386-2977
July 4 the museum will stay open late- till 8 pm. Families can stop in to view exhibits before the fireworks display.
July 31 and August 17 at 7:00 pm- Community Comment Session to seek input and advice for the future of the museum. 7:00 PM in the Weston Methodist Church at 533 Main Street. Enter through the door off Main Street next to the park fountain at the Dinah Robinson Courtyard. All interested community members are invited
September 5- History Happy Hour from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. You must be a member to attend. Reservations required. All tickets are free but there is a limited number available.
September 11 at 6:30 pm at the Museum. Reservations required. Jeff Elsea will lead a discussion on the revitalization of Weston. Space is limited. Call the museum for reservations. 816-386-2977
October 28 at 7 pm. at the Weston Methodist Church, Main Street- Catha Hall will present a program, Hemp Along the Missouri River. Reservations not required.
November 9, 2025 Save The Date for the Annual Meeting and Dinner at the Eventful venue in Weston
Featured Speaker: Jenna Lyons, a visiting assistant professor at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. While pursuing her doctorate at the University of Kansas, she wrote her Ph.D. dissertation on Weston’s history and its preservation efforts.

The Museum will close for the Winter months from the middle of December, 2025 to March, 2026- During the winter months, museum volunteers and staff clean and rearrange cases, add new displays, and file new additions.
